When you fulfill an exchange student’s dream to study in the United States by matching them with a supportive host family, being a Local Coordinator (LC) is truly rewarding.  Whether you are already connected in your community or interested in learning how to build a network, being a HSUSA Local Coordinator is a rewarding way to learn, grow, and make a difference.

Three steps to becoming a Local Coordinator

STEP 1: APPLICATION, BACKGROUND CHECK, & COMPLIANCE
1. Complete the application form
2. We'll connect with you over the phone for a preliminary interview and do a background and reference check
3. Watch our exchange student fundamentals video and take the test
STEP 2: BUILDING YOUR NETWORKS AND FINDING HOST FAMILIES

Our training in regards to networking is what sets HSUSA apart from the rest of the field.  In our training modules, we’ll teach you how to present hosting with HSUSA in a way that benefits the host families and the organization that introduces you to them.  As you maintain these relationships with key people over the years, they will help you find many host families each year.

ABOUT HSUSA

Who are we? - Parent Company

Our parent company, The Southwestern Family of Companies, began in 1855 and incorporated in Nashville, TN, in 1868.  This resilient direct selling company survived the great depression, a few recessions, and two world wars.  In a few words, Southwestern builds people, and these inspired individuals have developed over 20 companies.  Check out our mission and statement of purpose with the above link.
